“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” [1]
Paul warned of tough times in the last days. People will love themselves and their money. They will scoff at God, act religiously, and reject the power that could make them godly. [2]
People will be inward looking instead of outward looking!
What can change such a culture? Such an ingrained way of life?
One day, our Lord gave Ezekiel a vision. He saw a valley filled with dry bones. The Lord told Ezekiel to tell the dry bones that they would live again. When he did as the Lord commanded, the bones came together as skeletons. Muscles and skin formed over the bones, and the breath of life came into them. [3]
The Lord breathes spiritual live into dead souls as they hear the Gospel. This Gospel comes to them through Spirit-filled and Spirit-led people who love God and neighbor.
Revival comes by the power of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of Bible-believing and Bible-speaking Christians. The Holy Spirit moves as people devote themselves to Bible reading, prayer and to being witnesses for Christ.
Concerning prayer, E.M. Bounds said, “The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock in Heaven by which Christ carries on His great work upon [the] earth.”
Revival comes as God’s people believe for it, pray for it and work for it.
“Lord, please send a revival!”
