True Prophets

Judah had committed idolatry with every kind of idol. God compared idolatry to harlotry. God asked Judah if a husband would accept a wife who became a harlot back to him. The expected answer is no. But God said to Judah to return to Him and He would receive her back.

Jerusalem went down because they refused to return to the Lord though He beseeched them with the tears of His prophets.

I believe like Martin Luther did that the Word of God is God’s prophet. Those who understand and speak it rightfully function as a mouthpiece for God in this world.

Our world needs more such servants of God’s Word. I see an intensity in the prophets like Jeremiah, in the apostles like Paul and of course in our Savior Jesus to proclaim God’s Word rightly to people. May our Heavenly Father grant us this grace to do so likewise.
