“Do not envy the oppressor and choose none of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright.” [1]
Prefer the Lord not perversity! Don’t oppress, enjoy sweet fellowship with God.
“The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just. Surely, He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.” [2]
Prefer just living over wickedness. Pride leads to scorn of the Lord, while humility leads to enjoying His grace. Glory or shame hang in the balance!
“Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about 5,000.” [3]
While a small group of corrupt and oppressive rulers used lawfare against those who proclaimed the resurrection of Christ from the dead, others, about 5,000 men, believed their message and embraced Christ as their Lord and Savior.
“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” [4]
Like the mustard seed that is as small as a grain of sand but yields a plant that grows rapidly and is hard to get rid of, so is the Kingdom of Christ. His kingdom conquers all kingdoms. Therefore, let us ask God to heal, and do signs and wonders in the Name of His Son Jesus to help people believe in Him. The greatest sin is not to believe in Jesus for without faith in Him there is no forgiveness of sin. Salvation is by faith in Christ alone.
“With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” [5]
Jesus is alive and well and returning soon.
